This is our real estate journey

Property #1: Buy and Hold Foundation
Long-Term Rental | Tucson, AZ
Every journey starts with a single step. Purchased in 2012 as a first home, this property became an investment property in 2016. Our first Tucson property taught us the fundamentals of real estate investing—tenant screening, property maintenance, cash flow management, and the steady wealth-building power of long-term rentals. This property continues generating consistent monthly income while appreciating in Tucson's robust real estate market.
Strategy: Traditional buy-and-hold for reliable passive income.

Property #2: Tucson Secret Gem Airbnb
Vacation Rental | Tucson, AZ
After proving the model with our first rental, we leveraged its equity through a strategic refinance to acquire our second Tucson property in 2020. What started as another long-term rental opportunity transformed into something more—our flagship vacation rental now known as the Tucson Secret Gem began hosting guests in 2025.
This property showcases our evolution from landlord to hospitality entrepreneur. By transitioning to the short-term rental market, we discovered our passion for creating wellness-focused guest experiences and maximizing property potential. The Tucson Secret Gem features a private hot tub, thoughtful interior design, and amenities that keep guests returning season after season.
Strategy: Equity leverage + market repositioning = premium vacation rental income.

Property #3: The 2022 House Flip
Joint Partnership | Tucson, AZ
Not every investment story ends with spectacular profits, and that's okay. In 2022, we partnered on a Tucson house flip during one of the market's most unpredictable periods. Despite our best efforts—strategic renovations, quality finishes, and smart staging—we sold at a slim profit margin that barely covered our time and effort.
What we learned:
Timing matters. Market conditions shift. Even with solid execution, external forces can compress margins. This experience sharpened our investment criteria and reinforced the value of properties that generate income while we hold them, rather than relying solely on appreciation at sale.
Real estate isn't always glamorous—but every deal teaches you something valuable.
